A Day In New Hope

Spent a nice Fall Saturday in New Hope, Pa. with friends. I said a "nice Fall day," but it didn't feel too much like Fall as the temperature was in the mid 80's and a bit humid. (I can't wait for the cooler weather). But it was a nice day nonetheless, strolling New Hope, people watching, and just being in the company of good friends! The food and beer was great as was the conversation.

Pretty photos, Karl. My husband works in the lovely Bucks County area every day. One of his current job sites is in New Hope. My Uncles also live near that quaint little village.

Thanks, Jessica. It is quite a nice serene place. (Except for all the bikers roaring through....HaHa).

Karl,

Were you even New Hope back in the early 80's?

It was an entirely different place then. Still had the bikers and the artists and the gay community, but it was much less of tourist trap back then. You could actually walk the main drag and not be dodging dozens of out-of-towners.

Lambertville is kind of like that now, but even that is changing and becoming more gentrified.

No, this was actually my first trip to New Hope. Didn't really notice the crowds that I had to step aside. It was a Saturday afternoon and I expected alot of people. Nothing compared to the streets of NYC. I enjoyed it in New Hope. And Lambertville was just as crowded, maybe even more so.
