Republicans are all in a tizzy because they do not know quite how to fight the nomination by President Obama of Sonia Sotomayor for the US Supreme Court. Why the FIRST response of the Republicans has to be how do they fight the nomination before they even begin the hearings is beyond my comprehension, but the Republicans are very divided on how they unite against a woman they presume will be a reliable vote for liberal causes. If they launch a no-holds barred attack on Sotomayor, the first Hispanic to be nominated to the court, they risk alienating a growing minority they want on their side in the voting booth.
What a quandary!
