THANK GOD FOR SOME CHURCHES

The UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST has overhwhelmingly voted to approve a resolution endorsing gay marriage. This makes the United Church of Christ the largest Christian demonination to do so. The vote is non-binding to individual churches. About 80% of the church's General Synod voted to approve the resolution. Thank God for the United Church of Christ. Let's see if any other follow.

Any church that recognizes Gay marriage doesn't have God amongst them, only Satan.

I'm troubled by your title, Karl. Don't forget that ALL churches are still part of Christ's Church regardless of how you might agree or disagree with their stance on various issues. The Church is in the process of overturning thousands of years of tradtion here. Let's all have some patience. Don't forget our main mission, to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all. Even though I disagree with the UCC's decision, I still love your Church and look forward to working together with all Churches to spread the good news. I love you, Brother in Christ.

As a "new testament" Christian, Jesus NEVER NEVER condemned being gay, nor condemned anyone: "I came not into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through me might be saved." Sorry, "Anonymous" (who doesn't have the balls nor conviction to provide a name) there are more like you going to fill the pitts of hell than any gay folk.

Why is it that so many people don't understand that gay Christians are everywhere and simply need a church to call their own. Are gay Christians supposed to worship in secrecy? -John

Oh I just love some of you so called, "Christians" and your holier than thou attitude.

First we had anonymous #1 who claims that any church that recognizes gay marriage is Satanic (spoken like a true neo-Nazi).

Then anonymous # 2 reminds us that while he or she "loves" your church, he or she disagrees with the UCC's decision -- gee I wonder why?

And finally, # 3 opens his holy book and finds nothing endorsing same sex anything (and uses about a half a dozen exclamation points - because, well, because he or she is obviously upset over homosexuality.

As an agnostic, I take solace in the words of Thomas Jefferson who said, "Millions of innocent men, women, and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined, imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity. What has been the effect of coercion? To make one half the world fools, and the other half hypocrites." Now pick which one you might be...

tj,

please re-read my comment. I was not talking about the UCC; I was talking about the other comments made by the anonymous posters.

I am pleased that the UCC is such a progressive voice, but as for the others who have posted here, I see nothing but judgment and small mindedness.

Apparentyl none of you have read the book of Leviticus.

If God intended on man being with man why did he create woman. Homosexuality does society no good, only destroys it by spreading disease.

If you all want to have sex with one another so be it, just leave God out of it and quit acting like he approves.

Hey Anonymous,

Have your sacrificed any animals to god of late? According to your beloved book of Leviticus you better get on it!

1:2
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.

Oh and make sure you don't come in contact with any woman during her "time of the month":

15:19
And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even.

I guess it's time to start killing everyone who's had an affair with a married person...line up Jimmy Swaggert!

20:10
And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

So you see, if you feel that the man lying with a man bit is the law, so is all the rest of this nonsense!

I love you, it is your sin I hate. Leave it behind then you can come to know Jesus Christ and through him you may enter heaven.

The thing that upsets me the most is that we supposedly worship the same God. And your church is telling people it's okay that God accepts being gay. That is not true and I don't want people believing that about my God.
