Where Do They Get These Ideas?

The NJ Senate Budget Committee approved extending the State's 6% sales tax to health club memberships, downloaded music, tanning salons, limo rides, and some downloaded porn. The Senate Budget Committee, consisting of a democrat majority, voted 9-6 in favor of the measure. Republicans questioned whether the NJ economy could support raising the taxes. Good news, however, is this is largely symbolic since tax legislation must originate in the General Assembly which has not yet taken any measure on the Budget Committee's recommendtion. I guess since the State can't tax cigarette smokers any more (since they are taxed to death as it is), legislators think taxing the healthy is a good idea. Where do they come up with these ideas?

I think they had a big meeting in North Jersey, which was followed by a smaller meeting, and then a committee was formed and, ta-da! They have a new policy!!!
